Oh Lord, how I’ve clutched at my despair
Revisited such darkness over the years
Experienced a heart threatened by Evil
As he so arrogantly sneered
The world is no friend of ours my God
And You speak so quietly, tender
While the enemy’s voice booms aloud
Bringing us to our knees in surrender
Ruthless life, and then You respond
As I crumble to the floor, crushed
Or so it seemed as though I were
Broken and left, finally hushed
But no, this is where You live
Where You show the very power
That set Life in motion, faithful
To fulfill Your plan this hour
What Love could bring to life
Something that is lost and gone?
Redeem me, I accept Your rescue
And now desire Your calm
And I cherish the friends my Lord
That You’ve given me here
In this place of salvage and war
Cry out, oh victory cheer!
The miracle may simply be
Our shared struggle and inspiration
Striving to share Your love
Celebrating life with fascination.
